Brian Robinson, Senior VP (Originations & Capital Markets), National Affordable Housing Trust (NAHT)

With over 20 years of prior experience serving the affordable housing industry, Brian specializes in working with investors, lenders, local/state agencies and developers, including for-profit, not-for-profit and public housing agencies. Brian recently joined MassHousing in late 2024 to lead the agency’s preferred equity investment platform which directly invests in mixed-income, multifamily developments in the State.

Prior to this current position, Brian led National Affordable Housing Trust’s Development Advisory Services (DAS) team who worked with strong, mission-based organizations committed to the creation and/or preservation of affordable and workforce housing across the country. He is well versed in structuring affordable housing transactions, and has a wide range of experience with owners, investors, and public/federal agencies. Other positions that Brian has held include serving as Senior Managing Director at Baker Tilly responsible for offering real estate development consulting services and Director of Strategic Capital Ventures with HAI Group managing their $150 million credit-enhanced, LIHTC fund for public housing authority-led development transactions. In his role and work in investment banking, real estate development and LIHTC equity syndication, Brian has raised and been involved in securing and closing nearly $1 billion in investments, and developing over $300 million in affordable housing units.

Brian holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning and Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago, and is also involved with numerous philanthropic organizations, including Board membership of two (2) Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), and Advisory Board of a nationally-focused NMTC CDE.
