Paul Mazzarella has over forty years of experience in the planning and community development fields. He has held high-level planning positions for local governments in Amherst, MA, Lansing, MI and Ithaca, NY, where he provided oversight of land use, economic development, and community development initiatives. In 1990, he became the Executive Director of Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services, a highly respected community development corporation that operates in seven counties in Upstate New York. During his tenure, he significantly grew the organization’s real estate development, lending, and property management programs, including the production of over $150 million in new housing development. He retired from this position in 2017.
Mazzarella is currently an adjunct professor at Cornell University, where he teaches graduate-level courses on housing policy and urban design.
He has a B.A in Political Science from Duke University and a Masters in Regional Planning from Cornell University.
